Policy

  • Upon receiving the CD, the client has complete print release rights.  That means the client may print, share, and upload the images for personal use only.  However, if a client chooses to upload images to Facebook or any other social media sites, credit must be given to Danielle Lee Photography. Copyrights of images stay with Danielle Lee Photography which gives her full advertising, selling, redistributing rights.
  • Clients should receive their CD approximately 2 weeks after session takes place.  During the months of September to November this time may be extended to 3 weeks as that is my busy season.
  • Danielle Lee Photography keeps session images on file for 2 years.  After that, photos are no longer available.  If an additional disc is needed during that time there is a $25 fee.

Helpful Hints

  • Make copies of your CD and put them in 2 separate places to prevent loss, damage, etc...  There is a $25 fee if you need another disc to be made.
  • When printing your images, remember that each image has already been edited and color corrected so make sure you specify with the photography lab that no retouching or correcting is required.  This ensures that you receive the truest quality photo.  My favorite printing place is www.mpix.com They do a fabulous job and are high quality.
  • Maternity- It's best to take these photos around 20-26 weeks of pregnancy.  That should be right when that belly is starting to pop out but not so close to the due date that you are uncomfortable and swollen.  This is a special time in your life and you want to make sure that "pregnancy glow" emanates through the photos.
  • Newborns-  Newborns are best to be shot within the first 9 days of birth.  They are still tired all the time and are easily moldable.  I do these sessions at your home so it is best to find an area in your house with the most natural light coming in (a big window or a sliding glass door, etc...).  Make sure that the area is cleared for props and set up when I arrive.  Also, as inconvenient as this may sound, make sure that your house is heated to at least 80 degrees.  Babies are so much more agreeable when they are warm and cozy and when we undress baby for those cute naked shots, we want to make sure they are happy.  Lastly, I have my own set of props but if there is  anything you might want in the photos (a football helmet, or a special baby blanket, etc...) then be sure to have that ready as well.  Newborns bring such a special feeling into a home and I'm there to capture that tenderness.
  • Cake Smash- When a baby turns one I like to do a cake smash to celebrate the event!  It is one of the most fun sessions!  You bring baby and let them go to town on a cake!  You provide the cake or cupcake but I work with you to make sure we find a good location and theme for the session that best fits your little one's personality.  I ask that you provide a diaper cover but we can work together to make sure the background, the cake, the outfit all work well.  After the mess of the cake smash is over, we can do an optional bathtub session.  This is where I bring out a little tub and let them play around in the water for some more fun shots!  This session definitely catches the personality of your one year old and it is the most fun to see!  Session also includes just a few shots of your child prior to cake smash so come prepared.
  • Family- No two families are alike and that is why I work with you to make sure your location and your session are individualized to your family.  During your family session I take group family shots, sibling shots, some of the couple, and individuals of the children.  If there are any other shots you want specifically, don't hesitate to talk to me about it! I want to make this a fun and special time and make sure you get everything you want out of your session.  Family photos can be a stressful time, but I try to take that stress away and have fun with your family.

What to Wear

  • Deciding what to wear for pictures can be challenging so here are a few tips:  Don't be completely matching.  It's good to choose a few colors and coordinate clothes according to those colors but when everyone is wearing the exact same thing (i.e. white shirt and jeans, etc...) it takes away from the individuality of each person photographed.  Also, pictures and logos should be avoided because they draw the attention away from the person who is the real focus.  Keep in mind that these are merely suggestions and you obviously have the final say in what you wear for pictures, but from experience these suggestions can make a difference in your photos.
